Ivedent Lloyd Claims O'Reilly Southern All Star National Championship

Cleveland, TN - Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala , Florida has laid claim to his first career O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing Series Championship. The five-time National Late Model Series Champion bested three time runner-up Mark Vineyard by just twenty-six points which was the second closest margin of victory in OSAS history. Lloyd took the title on the strength of seven top five and seventeen top ten finishes. Lloyd was held winless on the season but did pick up a Southern All Stars East Twin Twenty victory at Golden Isles Speedway as well as a pair of American Billet Fast Time Awards. Lloyd saw many of the venues he competed at for the very first time when he pulled through the gates.

“We are kind of accustomed to the bigger tracks like we have around home. So we had quite a learning curve when we got to some of these places. But I think we improved every time we went back to a place. We had a lot of fun chasing this deal and my hat is off to Mark and his crew on a great battle for this championship. We plan on trying to run the whole deal again next year. We really want to win a race.” said Lloyd in a Cleveland Speedway post race interview.

“But I really need to thank all of the folks that helped me get here. I want to thank J.B. Harris, my dad, my car owners Grady and Frankie Lloyd. All of our great sponsors this year. Bearden Oil Company, Golden Isles Speedway, Marion Machine and Tool, Jones General, Precision Homes, Hoosier Race Tire South, HTI, AFCO, Wa-Don Bert, Dough Boy Signs, Mitch’s Shock Service, US Brake, Duralite Wheels, PPM Racing Products and Delph Communications have really been good to us.” said Lloyd.

“And I tell you it was really great to be able to call on Bill Schlieper at Pro Power Race Engines a lot this year. He did our motors for us but he helped us in a lot of other ways too. We always had awesome power but we also had the use of Bill’s racing knowledge too. And I cannot say enough about our MasterSbilt Race Cars. They were super dependable and predictable all year. Tater and Keith have really got a good piece.” commented Lloyd. Lloyd’s championship along with a steady list of strong runs by other MasterSbilt racers gave the Crothersville, IN chassis builder it’s second O’Reilly Southern All Stars Manufacturers Championship.
